We walk the roof, the projections, the condenser platforms and the shafts, separate the nesting positions from the perching ones, and measure and photograph every ledge.

Strip the nests and treat the parasites

Droppings are wetted before they are lifted so nothing goes airborne dry, bagged closed, and the nest position is treated for ticks and mites before the surface is sanitised.

Close and fit

Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

The follow-up visit

We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.

Questions about this district

My private villa has a surrounding garden; do pigeons nest in the garden or only on the roof?

Pigeons nest on the roof, not in the garden. They descend into the garden to drink from taps and hose pipes and leave droppings on the grass and outdoor furniture.

A large hotel building is next to my villa; do pigeons fly from the hotel roof onto mine?

Yes, birds fly very easily from the hotel's high roof down to the villa roof next door, and they bring families with them. Your roof needs complete protection.

The hospital nearby also complains of pigeons; should we treat the whole area together?

The hospital, villas and apartments each need separate treatment for their own buildings, but we can coordinate between the different sites to reduce the overall pigeon population in the district.

Humidity from the Al Awali area and old farms makes our roofs damp; does this damage mesh?

Humidity does not damage metal mesh or new spikes, but we clean them regularly so iron does not rust in this moisture.

Does roof work require the family to leave the villa or can we stay during the fitting?
