Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.

You cannot stop pigeons from using the wadi. We focus on protecting the villa roof and openings. Villas closer to the wadi experience slightly more pigeon activity than distant ones, but good protection works equally well for both.

Our villa is still under construction and the roof is not yet finished; should we fit deterrents now?

If the building structure is structurally sound we can fit now. We focus on external ledges and openings. Delaying means active nests form which require extra cleaning work after completion.

Our villa has a large surrounding garden; do pigeons nest in the garden or only on the roof?

Pigeons nest on the roof and in upper building openings. The garden provides food but nesting happens on the structure above. Protecting the roof and upper levels cuts the route before the garden becomes relevant.

The Fifth Ring Road sits next to our villa with heavy traffic; does this affect pigeon settlement?

Traffic noise and movement deter some pigeons but the surrounding vacant land offers sufficient shelter. We prioritise the facade facing the road with deterrent placement, since some pigeons still approach from that direction.
