Bird and pigeon control in Al Falaq Al Jadid Makkah
Al Falaq Al Jadid is a new scheme south of Makkah with new villas and wide vacant plots and open building sites, and pigeons nest on the first completed villas whilst waiting for more villas under construction. The surrounding hills and the nearby valley provide them with constant water, and vacant ground provides safe shelter. This is entirely different from a finished neighbourhood or an old district.

Why they keep coming back in Al Falaq Al Jadid
Pigeons here nest quickly on the first completed villas before residents move in, and the vacant ground and valley provide constant water and unlimited shelter. The method is set out in full on how we approach Bird and pigeon control.
First completed villas and surrounding vacant land
The first villa finished in the new scheme becomes an easy target for pigeons because the land around it is vacant and the roof is new and clean. The pigeon nests on the roof and ledges before the owner moves in.
Wadi Uranah, tributaries and standing water
Wadi Uranah runs through the scheme and leaves standing water after rain, where pigeons drink. Small tributaries provide water all year round in a few low spots.
Hills and open ground around the scheme
Jabal Aghzul and surrounding hills provide pigeons with safe shelter and roosting. Open ground, excavations and stacked materials provide further shelter.
Landmarks of Al Falaq Al Jadid
Al Falaq Al Jadid is bounded by the Fifth Ring Road to the north and Jabal Aghzul on other sides, reached via the Al Laith Road from north and south. Work starts from the Fifth Ring Road as a fixed point where most of the first villas in the new scheme stand.

The building decides which deterrent works
A new scheme south of Makkah at the foot of Jabal Aghzul under the Fifth Ring Road, mostly still open ground with buildings scattered thinly, open building sites and new villas scattered about, with unfinished paving and drainage in parts.
Ledge width
The ledges on new villas are very simple, wide and horizontal, so we fit simple deterrents that are easy to install on new construction.
Air conditioning platforms
Air conditioner platforms on new villas are very standard and installed in a regular pattern, so we cover them with standard uniform metal sheets.
The nest itself
Nests on the first new villas are few but placed at multiple points, so we remove them and treat the whole roof.
The droppings pattern
Droppings on new roofs are also few but leave marks on new ceramics and concrete.
Openings and shafts
Openings and vents on new villas are very standard and easy to close or protect with simple deterrents.
Around the roof tank
Water tanks on new villas at first may be simple and easy to control, so we cover them with standard metal covers.
How we work
-
1
Survey the roof and the facade
We walk the roof, the projections, the condenser platforms and the shafts, separate the nesting positions from the perching ones, and measure and photograph every ledge.
-
2
Strip the nests and treat the parasites
Droppings are wetted before they are lifted so nothing goes airborne dry, bagged closed, and the nest position is treated for ticks and mites before the surface is sanitised.
-
3
Close and fit
Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.
-
4
The follow-up visit
We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.
What bird and pigeon control includes
-
A recorded survey
Every ledge, condenser platform and shaft, photographed, with nesting separated from perching before anything is chosen.
-
Nest removal and drain clearing
Lifted wet rather than swept dry, bagged closed, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.
-
Parasite treatment and sanitising
The nest position treated for ticks and mites, then the surface the droppings sat on sanitised.
-
Sealing and fitting the deterrents
Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire, spikes or wire on narrow projections, and metal mesh across ventilation openings.
-
Aftercare instructions
The condensate water, food left on the roof, and what should not sit beside a ledge if the attraction is to stay gone.
-
A follow-up on tension and corners
Netting slackens and corners open over time; the visit corrects that and closes any new position.
What is different about South Makkah Sub-Municipality
South Makkah sub municipality is the belt of Crown Prince schemes south of Al Ukayshiyah, along the Al Laith road and the extension of Ibrahim Al Khalil Road to the Fifth Ring Road and the Non Muslims bypass. Most of it is still bare: granted plots awaiting houses, new villas standing alone, open building sites and unfinished paving and drainage. Wadi Uranah and its tributaries cross the low ground and hold water after rain, hills close it in, and rodents, reptiles and scorpions shelter in stacked materials and foundation pits before the neighbourhoods fill up.
Questions about this district
My new villa is the first in the scheme and pigeons are nesting on it before I move in.
We treat the house now, immediately. New treatment before occupancy stops the pigeon from settling. After moving there may be problems with furniture and fittings.
Hundreds more villas will be built around mine. Is treating just my house enough now when the rest is not built?
Treating your house now is sufficient for now, but when neighbouring villas are built without treatment they may become a new pigeon source. Coordination with neighbours when they finish is better.
The vacant land beside my house may become a villa later. Do we treat the land now or wait?
We treat the house now. When the neighbouring villa is built we treat it too. We do not treat vacant land directly.
Does the pigeon come from nearby Wadi Uranah?
Yes, the valley provides constant water especially after rain. Pigeons drink from the valley and vacant ground then nest on the villas.
Open building sites around the house may also be a pigeon source?
Yes. Standing water and stacked materials provide shelter for pigeons. When building finishes we treat the new villas too.
Is treatment in a new scheme like Al Falaq different from a finished neighbourhood?
Yes. Treatment here focuses on preventing nesting on the first villas before pigeons become used to the whole area.
How much does bird and pigeon control in Al Falaq Al Jadid cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Falaq Al Jadid.
