How we work

Survey the roof and the facade

We walk the roof, the projections, the condenser platforms and the shafts, separate the nesting positions from the perching ones, and measure and photograph every ledge.

Strip the nests and treat the parasites

Droppings are wetted before they are lifted so nothing goes airborne dry, bagged closed, and the nest position is treated for ticks and mites before the surface is sanitised.

Close and fit

Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

The follow-up visit

We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.

Questions about this district

I own a flat above a shop and pigeons are nesting on the shop. Do I only treat the shop?

No. Treating the shop alone is not enough because the pigeon will move straight up to your flat. All the edges between floors need treating together, including the shop roof, the interface between shop and flat, and your own roof ledges.

Will metal deterrents damage the historic facade of the shop below me?

No. We fit deterrents that match the narrow ledges of older shop facades and leave no permanent marks when removed. Plastic spikes do not rust.

Pigeons perch on the shop air conditioner then climb to my flat. How do we stop that?

We fit a curved metal cover over the unit that directs the bird away, and place deterrents on the ledge above it. The air conditioner itself is not the main point. The ledge is.

Will fitting deterrents disturb the residents in the flats above the shop?

The work is external only. No entry into flats. We work on the facade, the edges, and the shared roofs. There is no noise or contamination.

If my neighbour treats the shop beside mine will that be enough, or do I need to treat too?

Each building needs separate treatment because the ledges are different and the storeys vary. A pigeon may move from a treated shop to an untreated one next door.

How long after fitting does the pigeon disappear from the shop and flat?

Nesting drops immediately after fitting. Within two weeks new pigeons stop coming to the site. Old nests are removed and treated for parasites on the first visit.
