Cockroach control in Ajyad Makkah

Ajyad presses against the southern courtyards of the Haram and holds Makkah's densest run of hotels and pilgrim lodging. Buildings stand wall to wall up a narrow slope, kitchens run around the clock, and short-stay guests change over week after week, each arriving with luggage. That churn, not an untidy flat, is what keeps refilling a building with German cockroaches.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Ajyad

In Ajyad blocks the trail from an upper flat often leads down, not sideways: the real nest is a ground-floor kitchen cooking for guests, and the flat above only inherits what climbs the risers. The method is set out in full on the full Cockroach control page.

The first reason

Guests who turn over with their luggage

The German cockroach travels in with suitcases and grocery bags on every new intake of guests. In Ajyad's hotels and pilgrim flats a room is rarely empty long enough to clear, so unless the source is cornered, each treated building is quietly restocked by the next arrival.

The second reason

A slope and shared pipework

The buildings climb the Ajyad incline pressed wall to wall, sharing party walls and one drainage network. A flat you treat gets re-fed through the same riser from the neighbour who was not treated, or from the floor directly below, which is why single-flat work here seldom holds.

The third reason

Restaurants beneath the homes

Ground floors run as restaurants and catering kitchens almost without pause under the flats above. Their heat and grease feed roaches that climb at night into the upper storeys through cable runs and service shafts, so a home can stay infested while its own kitchen looks spotless.

Before treatment

The species and the place decide the method

Ajyad Al-Sadd sits in a low pocket where surface water and drains converge, and that damp base is a route the American cockroach climbs from the sewer network into ground-floor kitchens and lobbies, especially along the old wadi line the district follows.

A small light brown German cockroach

German cockroach

The smaller, faster-spreading species; it arrives as a traveller in guests' suitcases and grocery bags, then settles into the warm, crowded kitchens of Ajyad's pilgrim flats.

A larger dark cockroach on a wooden surface

American cockroach

The larger one; it climbs from the manholes and sewer lines in the low ground of Ajyad Al-Sadd and shows up in ground-floor kitchens and entrance lobbies near the Haram.

An oven and gas hob beneath wooden shelving

Appliance heat

Behind fridges, water heaters and coffee machines that run without pause in flats catering for guests; the steady warmth is where egg cases are sheltered and hatch.

A kitchen with a fridge; the gap behind it is a classic nest

The gap behind the fridge

In Ajyad's cramped kitchens the fridge is shoved against the wall, and the warm gap behind it becomes a harbourage you cannot reach without pulling the unit out.

A tap carrying water droplets

Water before food

Cockroaches need water before food, and Ajyad's humidity, bathroom leaks and damp under-sink cupboards supply it; close the water sources first, not just the crumbs.

A dimly lit kitchen at night

What you see at night

A single roach on the wall at night means dozens are hidden, and in a multi-storey Ajyad block the source can be a whole floor below where you stand.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and identify

We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.

  2. 2

    Treat the harbourage

Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.

  3. 3

    Close what can be closed

We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.

What cockroach control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded inspection

Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Placed gel bait

In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

    Targeted spray where needed

On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drain and entry treatment

Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.

Questions about this district

My flat sits above a ground-floor restaurant. Is that the cause?

Very likely. The restaurant kitchen below you is a permanent, warm, well-fed source, and roaches climb from it up through pipes and cable runs. We treat your flat and that lower source together, because scrubbing your own kitchen alone will not stop them returning.

Can guests' and pilgrims' luggage bring cockroaches into the building?

Yes. German cockroaches and their egg cases travel in suitcases and bags with every new arrival, which is why an Ajyad building can reinfest with no fault of its own. We concentrate on reception areas, stores and room wardrobes, and place bait that intercepts the next arrival, not only what is already there.

The neighbour and the floor below were not treated. Will they come back through the pipes?

In Ajyad that is the most likely route. The buildings share party walls and one drainage network, so roaches cross from any untreated unit. We seal the pipe penetrations and gaps around your flat, and where we can we advise treating the connected units together so the shared system is closed at once.

We let a furnished flat to pilgrims. How do we keep it clear between guests?

The fast turnover with no proper closed period is the challenge. We keep standing bait behind the appliances and in the kitchen and reception points, check the wardrobes and stores between stays, and treat early before numbers build up rather than waiting until roaches are seen at night.

Does the low ground of Ajyad Al-Sadd draw the big cockroaches up from the drains?

Yes. Water gathers in that low pocket, and American cockroaches climb from it through the manholes into ground-floor levels. We treat the drainage points, floor gullies and pipe entries, and set barriers at the building's lower openings so the route up from the network is cut.

The whole tower shares one refuse room. Does that keep the problem going?

Yes. A shared refuse room in an Ajyad tower is a constant supply of food and moisture that feeds the whole building. We include it in the treatment along with the drains around it, and advise sealing the bags tightly and emptying it more often so that supply is cut off.

How much does cockroach control in Ajyad cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Ajyad.
