Cockroach control in Al Adl Makkah
Al Adl is Makkah's eastern edge, spread along King Faisal Road and the Fourth Ring Road, and most of it is apartment blocks and pilgrim housing that fills during the seasons and empties afterwards. That stop-start rhythm is what changes cockroach control here: kitchens are worked hard for days, then locked up, so roaches move between flats through the shared vertical risers while nobody is home.
-
Targeted, not broadcast
Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.
-
Told before we start
What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.
-
A follow-up visit
We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.
-
Homes and businesses
Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.
Why they keep coming back in Al Adl
In Al Adl, most calls land right as a season opens, when flats that sat closed for weeks are unlocked and cockroaches pour out from behind the appliances all at once. The method is set out in full on how we approach Cockroach control.
Pilgrim housing fills, then locks up
Season flats cook meals hard for a handful of days, then get shut with whatever roaches and eggs are already inside. During the closed weeks the colony hunts for water and spreads into the flats next door, so the next season opens with a wider infestation than the last one ended with.
Vertical risers join the floors
Treating one flat in a block whose plumbing is tied together just pushes the roaches a floor up or down, no further. So we read the whole riser line rather than a single kitchen, and treat the points where the stacks pass through each flat we can reach.
A new edge along the ring road
Al Adl's blocks are recently built out on the fringes of the Fourth Ring Road, and that fast construction leaves expansion joints and service penetrations that were never sealed tight. Those fresh voids hand the German cockroach clean runs inside the walls before the building has even settled into use.
The species and the place decide the method
In Al Adl's blocks, shared vertical drainage stacks tie every floor together, and many of the flats are furnished pilgrim units that stay shut between seasons with standing water left sitting in their floor traps and cisterns.
German cockroach
Thrives in the pilgrim-housing kitchens that get used hard, then travels flat to flat across the block during the empty weeks between seasons, following warmth and the shared plumbing.
American cockroach
The larger one, it climbs up from the drainage chambers and manholes out by the ring road, showing on the ground floors and around the wet mouths of the risers.
Appliance heat
In season flats the fridges and water heaters are left running, and the warmth off their motors draws cockroaches to the back of the appliance even when there is little food about.
The gap behind the fridge
Furnished units have the fridge shoved flat against the wall, leaving a warm, dark, rarely cleaned gap behind it where the colony sits out the weeks between seasons.
Water before food
In a flat locked up after the season there is no food, but leaking taps and the water in the floor traps are enough to keep the roaches going until the doors open again.
What you see at night
Spotting a roach at night on the block's stairwell or in the kitchen means the riser is carrying them between floors, not that they belong to your flat alone.
How we work
-
1
Inspect and identify
We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.
-
2
Treat the harbourage
Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.
-
3
Close what can be closed
We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.
-
4
The follow-up visit
We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.
What cockroach control includes
-
A recorded inspection
Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.
-
Placed gel bait
In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.
-
Targeted spray where needed
On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.
-
Drain and entry treatment
Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.
-
Aftercare instructions
Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.
-
A scheduled follow-up
A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.
Questions about this district
My flat is in pilgrim housing, do roaches come from neighbouring units?
Usually yes. Season flats fill and empty at different times, and roaches move toward whichever unit is occupied, hunting water and food through the shared stacks. That is why we check the entry points from the neighbours, not only your own kitchen.
The building shares drainage, is treating my flat alone enough?
It helps, but it rarely finishes the job. The vertical stacks connect your kitchen to the ones above and below you, and any untreated flat stays a source. We treat the riser routes and advise coordinating a visit that covers the flats tied to the same line.
The flat is closed after the season, what happens while it is shut?
Being shut does not stop them. Water left in the floor traps and dripping taps keeps the colony alive, and the stillness lets it breed quietly behind the appliances. Treating before you lock up and following up when you reopen keeps the first day of the season from turning into a shock.
The season kitchen is used by many people, does that make it worse?
Yes. Heavy cooking for a large group over a few days leaves more crumbs, grease and moisture than a single family's kitchen, and that is ideal feeding for the German cockroach. We concentrate the bait on the warm corners near the hob and the sink where it gathers.
The block is new, near the Fourth Ring Road, why does it already have roaches?
New does not mean empty. Fast building on the ring-road fringe leaves expansion joints and service openings unsealed, and an infestation can also arrive with second-hand furniture or appliances brought into the flat. We close the runs and treat the source together.
The building's bin room is on the ground floor, does it reach the upper flats?
Yes. The bin room and refuse chute on the ground floor are a standing reservoir for the American cockroach, and from there it climbs the risers and wall voids to the upper flats at night. Treating the lower floors and the communal areas is a core part of solving any flat above them.
How much does cockroach control in Al Adl cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Adl.
