Why they keep coming back in Al Mahjar

Questions about this district

Does living near the sea make cockroaches worse here?

Indirectly, yes. The coastal humidity and the low ground keep drains and walls damp, and it is that constant water, more than anything else, that lets cockroaches survive and breed here far more readily than in the drier inland districts.

They come up through the bathroom drains, why?

The American cockroach lives in the wet sewer manholes beneath Al Mahjar's streets and climbs up at night through floor drains and traps. We treat those openings and show you which ones can be closed off with a mesh or a drain seal, so the route is cut.

Our building is old with shared pipes, is treating my flat alone enough?

I live on the ground floor, is my situation harder?
