Cockroach control in Barakah Makkah
Barakah is a recently renamed subdivision on the north-eastern edge of Al Shara'i, sitting between Al Thaniyyah and Hunayn. Most of its homes are newly occupied villas, and furniture, boxes and second-hand appliances arrive all at once with the move. German cockroaches ride in among them, while building work on the surrounding plots keeps pushing others toward the nearest lived-in kitchen.
-
Targeted, not broadcast
Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.
-
Told before we start
What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.
-
A follow-up visit
We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

Homes and businesses
Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.
Why they keep coming back in Barakah
In Barakah homes, the first cockroaches we are called about usually appear in a brand-new kitchen a few weeks after moving in, not in some old, neglected corner of the house. The method is set out in full on what Cockroach control involves.
Villas only just moved into
Barakah homes get furnished in a single burst when the family moves in: wrapped appliances, furniture that may be second-hand, and cardboard stacked in the kitchen. Those materials carry eggs that hatch weeks later, so we start by checking what has recently come in before any spraying.
Building work still going on next door
The subdivision is only part-built, and the neighbouring plots are open ground. Digging and drainage work on them drives American cockroaches toward the nearest occupied house, so we seal the ways in at thresholds, around pipe runs and at external service points, not only inside the kitchen.
The gaps left by a new build
Freshly poured concrete and pipework fitted only recently leave gaps around sinks and electrical points. German cockroaches settle into those warm cracks close to water, so we treat the internal edges and joints where they actually shelter rather than the open wall faces.
The species and the place decide the method
Many of Barakah's new villas still rely on septic tanks and freshly laid drainage rather than a settled mains network. On warm nights, American cockroaches climb up from them through floor gullies and kitchen drains into the rooms above.
German cockroach
Arrives in Barakah with move-in furniture and second-hand appliances, then stays close to the new kitchen where warmth, moisture and food all sit in one place.
American cockroach
Larger, and climbs up from villa septic tanks and newly laid drains through floor gullies, showing up in bathrooms and entrances after digging on a nearby plot.
Appliance heat
New fridges and ovens give off steady warmth, and in Barakah villas German cockroaches gather behind their motors long before you notice them in a drawer.
The gap behind the fridge
In a freshly furnished kitchen the fridge is pushed back to the wall, and the gap behind it becomes a warm, dark run linking water to food undisturbed.
Water before food
In Al Shara'i's dry air a cockroach looks for moisture first, so we check under sinks and the new washing-machine connections before the food cupboards.
What you see at night
A cockroach crossing a new kitchen floor at night in a just-occupied home most likely came in with the move, not from an old crack, and that changes where we treat.
How we work
-
1
Inspect and identify
We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.
-
2
Treat the harbourage
Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.
-
3
Close what can be closed
We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.
-
4
The follow-up visit
We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.
What cockroach control includes
-
A recorded inspection
Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.
-
Placed gel bait
In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.
-
Targeted spray where needed
On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.
-
Drain and entry treatment
Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.
-
Aftercare instructions
Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.
-
A scheduled follow-up
A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.
Questions about this district
I've just moved into Barakah, where did the cockroaches come from?
Most likely they came with you. Cardboard boxes, second-hand furniture and stored appliances carry German cockroach eggs, which hatch a few weeks after you settle in. We start by checking what has recently been brought into the kitchen and storage areas before any general spraying.
Could the second-hand furniture I brought in be the cause?
It can be. Furniture and appliances moved from a previous home carry eggs tucked into cracks and joints. We inspect those pieces specifically and treat their seams and hinges, rather than settling for spraying the walls.
The plot next door is still being built, does that matter?
Yes. Digging and drainage work on open plots drives cockroaches, American ones especially, toward the nearest occupied house. So we seal the entry points at thresholds, around pipe runs and at the external service openings, not just inside the home.
My house is on a septic tank, not mains drainage, what does that mean?
A septic tank is a constant source of American cockroaches unless its covers and outlets are sealed. We treat the points where they climb up through floor gullies and bathrooms, and advise closing any opening that connects the tank to the inside of the house.
I have a garden and irrigation around the villa, does that attract them?
Irrigation keeps the soil and outer walls damp, and that draws American cockroaches toward the perimeter of the house. We reduce the damp spots sitting against the wall and treat the thresholds and entrances they use to get inside.
Are the empty plots around the subdivision a source?
Unbuilt land collects rubbish and sometimes standing water, which makes it a refuge for American cockroaches near the outlying villas. We pay particular attention to the side of the house facing those plots when we inspect and treat the perimeter.
How much does cockroach control in Barakah cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Barakah.
