Rest houses and farms in Al Ruwais Jeddah

Al Ruwais is an old district beside the Corniche where decades old apartment buildings stand alongside newer construction, and small rest houses and farms face pressure from two directions: sea humidity from the west and pests from densely packed old buildings to the east.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Ruwais

High coastal humidity keeps cockroaches active even in winter, unlike inland districts where they slow in cold months. The method is set out in full on our Rest houses and farms service.

The first reason

Sea humidity activates pests throughout the year

Salt air and moisture from the Corniche keep cockroaches and mosquitoes active even in winter. Seasonal treatment is not enough here. We focus on continuous management and treatment of footings and cavities that retain moisture.

The second reason

Ageing buildings spread pests to rest houses

Old buildings around Al Ruwais are packed with cockroaches and rodents, and the gaps between them and your space are too narrow. Rodents climb from building to building and we intercept them. We focus on sealing boundary gaps and fixing metal barriers at high risk points.

The third reason

Old quarters under redevelopment release pest waves

Demolition and building work in older quarters flush swarms of pests from old footings and sealed cavities. Rest houses nearby face waves of invasion at each construction phase. We double treatments when redevelopment work begins nearby.

Al Ruwais on the map

Al Ruwais sits about 1.5 km from Al Sharafiyah and about 6 km from Al Naseem.

The site decides the shape of the programme

West of Madinah Road near the Corniche, a mix of ageing and modern buildings, high sea humidity, and older quarters undergoing redevelopment that increase activity and disorder.

A concrete boundary wall with open sandy ground behind it

The foot of the wall

The wall in Al Ruwais faces the sea and moisture on one side and old buildings on the other. The treatment band below the wall must be deep and extensive to seal old cavities in the footings.

Dry palm fronds and building blocks piled on the ground

Frond and block piles

Piles around the rest house are damp from sea humidity and hold new generations of cockroaches, spiders and rodents. We lift and move everything, exposing ground and water bearing points.

An irrigation channel holding still water beside cultivated ground

Standing water

Standing water from irrigation, rain and drainage leaks pools easily in low areas. Every damp spot near walls and footings needs investigation for cause, drainage and treatment.

Feed sacks stacked on a store floor

The feed store

The store, if present, is damp from sea moisture. We inspect the store, cavities around it, doors and windows and treat them without entering the store itself initially.

An empty pen with straw on the floor and a metal rail

Pens and bedding

Small pens for poultry or sheep need good sealing because coastal humidity attracts pests rapidly. Bedding must be fresh and footings treated.

A closed metal exterior door with the gap beneath it visible

The building that stays shut

Closed rooms may be storage or bedrooms, and high humidity increases their appeal to cockroaches. We treat cracks and cavities around doors and windows from outside and inside.

How we work

  1. 1

Walk the site and number the points

We walk the boundary, the feed store, the pens, the water sources and the buildings, record the species present, the burrows, the entry points and every standing water source, and number the monitoring positions on a plan.

  2. 2

    Lift what things hide under

The piles, the rubble, the fallen dates, the feed sacks pushed up against the wall. On any large plot these gather simply because there is room for them, and clearing them brings the numbers down before a single product is used.

  3. 3

The perimeter band and targeted treatment

A band at the foot of the wall and the buildings, treatment into the burrows and cracks, locked rodent stations fixed along the route, and mosquito breeding sites treated in the water itself.

  4. 4

Scheduled visits and a sheet each time

We come back on an agreed schedule, read the same points, renew the band the sun and the irrigation have used up, and write down what was found, what was applied and where, and what the site needs closed.

What the rest house and farm programme includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

A site walk and a map of the points

The boundary, the buildings, the pens and the water sources, and a plan with the monitoring positions numbered before anything is installed.

  • A metal floor drain

Water sources treated at the source

Drinking troughs, drip lines, tank outlets and anything that stands for days, because mosquitoes come out of water and not out of the air.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

A treated band at the perimeter

The foot of the wall, the building bases and the path edges, which is the line anything coming off the open ground has to cross.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Locked rodent stations

Fixed and numbered along one route, and closed so that neither a child's hand nor an animal on the site can get into them.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    What the site does afterwards

What to cover, where to move animal water bowls, when irrigation can start again without washing the band off, and the ventilation time, which we give you on the call because it changes with the product and the space.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    Scheduled visits and a record

A schedule agreed ahead of the seasons, the same points read every time, and a record of what was found, what was treated and what is still open.

What is different about Al Sharafiyah Sub-Municipality

The Al Sharafiyah sub municipality runs across central Jeddah from Al Ruwais near the Corniche eastwards through Al Sharafiyah, Al Wurud and Bani Malik to Al Naseem at the Haramain Road. It was among the first areas to grow beyond the old wall, and it is dominated by dense apartment blocks over shops along King Fahd Road and Palestine Street, with old popular quarters, the Bani Malik market, car workshops and storerooms. Ageing buildings, worn drainage and the refuse of restaurants and markets make cockroaches and rodents the most persistent pests, and humidity rises towards the sea.

Questions about this district

Does salt in the air affect the chemical treatment's strength?

Salt can reduce the effectiveness of some surface treatments, but treatment in cavities and footings is unaffected. We select pesticides that hold their strength in damp coastal environments.

High moisture makes wall cavities wet. Does that matter?

High humidity attracts cockroaches and ants directly. We use diluted liquid treatments that penetrate moisture and remain active even where water is constantly present.

Rodents enter from the adjoining building. How do we block them?

We inspect gaps and cracks between the two buildings and seal them with mineral dust and silicone. We install metal barriers around likely entry points from shared walls and roof surfaces.

The Corniche is very close. Do mosquitoes come from there?

Mosquitoes from the Arbaeen lagoon and wet areas near the Corniche arrive easily. We focus on removing all standing water around the rest house and garden, and treat slopes where water can pool.

Redevelopment work in nearby quarters. Does it affect our treatment?

Yes, demolition and building drive off swarms of pests. We increase frequency and add preventive treatment during redevelopment in neighbouring areas.

Do we need surface treatment or internal wall treatment more?

Both, but footings, cavities and wall cracks matter most. Surfaces act as a first line of defence, but pests persist in internal cavities and airspaces.

How much does rest houses and farms in Al Ruwais cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Ruwais.
