Gecko control in Al Sarawat Jeddah
Al Sarawat is an industrial district in far south Jeddah on the western side of Al Khumrah, where large warehouses and workshops dominate, stretching between the Industrial City to the north and the southern corniche to the west. Homes are scattered among wide commercial and residential plots. Geckos arrive from warehouses, shops and the expressway towards scattered villas that provide superior shelter.

Why they keep coming back in Al Sarawat
Large warehouses, dense workshops and the expressway provide year round moisture and insects. Villas in Al Sarawat are surrounded by enormous gecko sources from all directions. The method is set out in full on how we approach Gecko control.
Massive warehouses provide constant food and moisture
Al Sarawat is industrial and logistics focused. Massive warehouses provide food (packaged goods, stored supplies, grains), moisture from drainage leaks, and shelter in interior cracks and corners. Warehouses operate night shifts and attract insects in enormous quantities. Villas beside warehouses will experience continuous gecko migration.
The expressway brings night traffic and constant lighting
Al Laith Expressway runs near Al Sarawat carrying heavy night traffic and strong lights. These lights attract millions of small insects and moths. Villas beside the expressway receive geckos from insects arriving on the road.
Scattered building prevents shared defence
Villas are sparse and few in an industrial area. This means treating one villa will not stop geckos from the warehouse beside it or from neighbouring villas. Villas are distant from each other, so coordination among scattered owners for collective treatment is very difficult.
Al Sarawat on the map
Al Sarawat sits about 4.5 km from Al Saruriyah and about 6 km from Al Taawun.
Open in Google MapsThe food, the opening and the crevice decide the method
Al Sarawat borders the Industrial City to the north and lies near Al Seef Beach and the southern corniche to the west, close to Al Laith Road. Warehouses and workshops provide moisture from leaking drainage, and the expressway supplies lights and insects.
The house gecko
House geckos in Al Sarawat hide in cracks around villa and flat foundations because of close warehouse proximity. Openings between adjacent villas provide safe passages.
Outdoor lighting
Expressway lights, warehouse lights and shop lights attract insects in enormous quantities. Geckos arrive from these lights towards villas.
Window mesh
Villa and flat windows may have weak mesh or gaps. Mesh may be provisional because the area is industrial.
The air-conditioner sleeve
Air conditioner sleeves in villas and flats may be poorly sealed. Gaps around them provide direct entry.
Meter boxes and electrical panels
Electrical boxes and meters in villas may have wide holes for wiring. Cracks around them provide safe passages.
The garden and the irrigation
Gardens or yards around villas may be near warehouses. Irrigation and small insects attract geckos from the warehouse.
How we work
-
1
Inspect at night and find the source
We come at the hour it is actually moving, and establish which wall face it is living on, which lights are gathering its food, the entry points and the crevices it wedges into by day.
-
2
Treat the food source
We treat the flying and crawling insects on the wall faces, around the perimeter and around the lighting. Once the food goes, the wall stops being worth staying on.
-
3
Close the openings and clear the crevices
We seal the air-conditioner sleeve, screen the vents and drain outlets, deal with the underside of doors, and place a repellent in the crevices and behind panels so they move out before anything is closed.
-
4
The follow-up visit
We come back once the glued eggs have hatched, check the seals held, and re-treat any wall face where activity has returned.
What gecko control includes
-
A recorded night inspection
Wall faces, lighting, entry points and egg sites, all established before anything is applied.
-
Treating the insects on the walls
Targeted treatment around lighting, windows and the building perimeter, because the food is what keeps it there.
-
Placed repellent in the crevices
Behind panels, in wall joints and at the ceiling-void entries, where it sits out the day.
-
Screening vents and drain openings
Shafts, vents and the condensate outlet, which are entry points nobody looks at.
-
Aftercare instructions
Ventilation, what to cover, and the change to the outside lighting that stops the insects gathering again.
-
A scheduled follow-up
A set date after the first treatment, a check on the seals and re-treatment of anything still active.
The character of Al Sarawat
Industrial area: workshops, warehouses and loading yards
Al Sarawat is industrial, meaning gecko sources are multiple and large: warehouses, expressway, corniche. Scattered villas cannot coordinate easily. Treating each villa independently and retreating intensively is essential. Expectations should be realistic: geckos will return continuously as long as warehouses and the expressway remain nearby.
Questions about this district
Is Al Sarawat worse than other industrial areas in Jeddah?
Yes. Al Sarawat lies between the Industrial City and the expressway and southern corniche. Insect sources from warehouses, the road and the corniche are multiple. Gecko pressure here is very high.
Do villas in Al Sarawat need more frequent treatment than others?
Much more. Villas are surrounded by warehouses and an expressway. First treatment and second treatment two weeks later are essential. After that, retreatment every two weeks in summer and spring, and every three weeks in winter.
Does the southern corniche beside Al Sarawat increase humidity?
Yes. The corniche provides high coastal moisture especially in summer. This lengthens the insect and gecko season. Villas near the corniche will need even more intensive treatment.
When will we need a second treatment in Al Sarawat?
First treatment removes current residents. Second treatment two weeks later is necessary when eggs hatch. After that, retreatment every two weeks because migrants arrive at high speed.
Will treating one warehouse stop geckos from neighbouring villas?
Treating one warehouse may reduce pressure but will not stop it. Other warehouses and the expressway remain sources. Treating villas carefully around foundations and mesh is more important than treating the warehouse.
Does Abu Dawud Primary School beside Al Sarawat provide protection?
Abu Dawud School is a fixed educational site. It may have green space or a small garden around it. But the school itself is not residential. Real pressure comes from warehouses and the expressway.
How much does gecko control in Al Sarawat cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Sarawat.
