Gecko control in Badr Makkah
Badr is a newly developed district with a new name, a western extension in north Makkah next to Al Khadra and Al Usaylah where the Fourth Ring Road meets King Faisal Road. Planned residential plots hold scattered new apartment buildings on raised ground where services are still sparse. The construction is recent but old ground lies beneath and services remain incomplete.

Why they keep coming back in Badr
Residential plots are new and recently built but services are incomplete and streets are mostly empty. Geckos shelter in vacant land and newly laid foundations. The method is set out in full on Gecko control in detail.
New raised ground on old foundations
New construction sits on raised ground but foundations rest on old ground that may hold moisture. Small cracks around new footings offer shelter. Insects live in the ground and around the foundations.
Sparse services and wide vacant land
The district is new and services are still sparse. Vacant plots are numerous and streets mostly empty. Insects and rodents live in vacant land. Geckos shelter in vacant plots and completed new buildings.
The Fourth Ring Road and King Faisal Road
The two main roads bring traffic, noise and disturbed soil. Ongoing building work on the margins stirs ground. Insects and rodents shelter from the excavated earth and move to new buildings.
Badr on the map
Badr sits about 2.5 km from Usaylah and about 3 km from Khadra.
Open in Google MapsThe food, the opening and the crevice decide the method
The ground is raised and dry, streets are wide and planned but essential services are still under construction. Modern sewerage runs but new foundations sit on old ground and may hold moisture.
The house gecko
The house gecko in Badr shelters in vacant land and cracks around new foundations, so external treatment around the building and surrounding land is essential.
Outdoor lighting
External lighting on new buildings attracts insects from vacant plots, and geckos come for the insects, so reducing night time lighting reduces insects and geckos.
Window mesh
Window and opening mesh protects from insects and young geckos, and installing it on ventilation openings prevents entry from vacant land.
The air-conditioner sleeve
Air conditioner sleeves in new buildings may be near vacant plots, and geckos enter through them, so sealing them with fine mesh is essential.
Meter boxes and electrical panels
Electrical panels in buildings may be on outer walls near vacant land, and cracks around them offer entry, so cleaning and injecting them reduces populations.
The garden and the irrigation
Vacant plots and empty streets provide insect and rodent habitat, and treating around the building reduces geckos entering from these spaces.
How we work
-
1
Inspect at night and find the source
We come at the hour it is actually moving, and establish which wall face it is living on, which lights are gathering its food, the entry points and the crevices it wedges into by day.
-
2
Treat the food source
We treat the flying and crawling insects on the wall faces, around the perimeter and around the lighting. Once the food goes, the wall stops being worth staying on.
-
3
Close the openings and clear the crevices
We seal the air-conditioner sleeve, screen the vents and drain outlets, deal with the underside of doors, and place a repellent in the crevices and behind panels so they move out before anything is closed.
-
4
The follow-up visit
We come back once the glued eggs have hatched, check the seals held, and re-treat any wall face where activity has returned.
What gecko control includes
-
A recorded night inspection
Wall faces, lighting, entry points and egg sites, all established before anything is applied.
-
Treating the insects on the walls
Targeted treatment around lighting, windows and the building perimeter, because the food is what keeps it there.
-
Placed repellent in the crevices
Behind panels, in wall joints and at the ceiling-void entries, where it sits out the day.
-
Screening vents and drain openings
Shafts, vents and the condensate outlet, which are entry points nobody looks at.
-
Aftercare instructions
Ventilation, what to cover, and the change to the outside lighting that stops the insects gathering again.
-
A scheduled follow-up
A set date after the first treatment, a check on the seals and re-treatment of anything still active.
The character of Badr
New development: ongoing construction and vacant plots between the homes
In a new development like Badr, services are still sparse and vacant land is vast, so geckos shelter in footings and vacant plots and come to new buildings hunting insects attracted by the external lighting.
Questions about this district
Are vacant plots around my new villa the source of geckos?
Yes, vacant plots supply insects and rodents. Geckos shelter there and enter completed new buildings.
Does new building on old foundations increase geckos?
Yes, old foundations may hold moisture and cracks. Geckos shelter in cracks around the footings.
Do sparse services in the district increase geckos?
Yes, empty streets and vacant plots create habitat for insects and rodents. Geckos come for the insects.
Are new buildings protected from geckos from vacant land?
New buildings are well isolated but vacant plots beside them offer gecko sources. Treating the building and surrounding area is necessary.
How often must I treat in Badr?
Repeat treatment may be necessary if vacant plots are not treated. One treatment may suffice if surrounding land is also treated.
Do the ring road and main road attract geckos?
The roads bring traffic and disturbed soil around them provides insect habitat. Geckos may come from there but do not shelter on the roads themselves.
How much does gecko control in Badr cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Badr.
