Orchards and date farms nearby are home to flies, moths and small insects. Geckos do not come straight from the field but track their prey to the house lights, then slip in through gaps around doors, vents and pipes.

Rural homes are built raised on posts or sit on old foundations with natural cracks. Geckos enter under doors, through clogged vents and external fixtures far more easily than into a sealed townhouse.

How we work

Inspect at night and find the source

We come at the hour it is actually moving, and establish which wall face it is living on, which lights are gathering its food, the entry points and the crevices it wedges into by day.

Treat the food source

We treat the flying and crawling insects on the wall faces, around the perimeter and around the lighting. Once the food goes, the wall stops being worth staying on.

Close the openings and clear the crevices

We seal the air-conditioner sleeve, screen the vents and drain outlets, deal with the underside of doors, and place a repellent in the crevices and behind panels so they move out before anything is closed.

The follow-up visit

We come back once the glued eggs have hatched, check the seals held, and re-treat any wall face where activity has returned.

Al Sharai is the eastern growth front of Makkah along King Faisal Road and the Taif road. The wadi is a natural gecko habitat, but entry happens only when outdoor lights attract their food insects. Treating around exterior lights and sealing gaps stops the entry.

Is treating my home enough if a neighbouring farm is active?

Treating the home and its immediate surroundings stops entry, but if a neighbouring farm is actively attracting geckos, a second treatment may be needed in a few weeks.

Do open windows facing the fields increase the problem?

Yes. Large windows or degraded mesh let insects and geckos in together. Repairing the mesh is part of the solution.

Geckos migrate from orchards when hungry or during breeding season. Treating your home protects it, but return can happen when the season changes.

Are irrigation channels and old drains a gecko entry route?

Irrigation water attracts insects, and insects attract geckos. If channels are old with cracks, they are a direct entry corridor into the ground around the house.
