Mosquito control in Al Lulu Jeddah

Al Lulu is a small coastal strip on the Red Sea between the Zumurrud area to the north and Al Amwaj and Al Shira to the south along Obhur Road. Villas and modern apartments face the sea with private gardens and terraces. A coastal zone with high humidity year round and salt air affecting all materials, every villa has gardens needing daily water. Water pools around walls and foundations from the moisture and constant irrigation.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Lulu

Humidity in Al Lulu rises markedly in summer and salt air may affect the efficiency of some treatments. The method is set out in full on the full Mosquito control page.

The first reason

Permanent high humidity, the sea nearby and salt laden air

Al Lulu sits on the beach itself and humidity stays high year round. Salt air may reduce the effectiveness of some treatments, and high humidity speeds mosquito development. Adult mosquitoes favour damp places, and the shore provides constant moisture.

The second reason

Gardens and irrigated green spaces in villas and resorts

Every villa and resort in Al Lulu has an irrigated garden and ornamental pools. Regular watering creates standing water in gaps and pools. Resorts may contain fountains and small swimming pools providing standing water.

The third reason

Damp foundations, cracks and high groundwater near the surface

Villas on the shore may suffer damp foundations and high groundwater near the surface. Moisture enters buildings through small cracks and foundations. Standing water near exterior walls may carry moisture inward.

Landmarks of Al Lulu

Al Lulu is easily reached via Obhur Road from north and south, and treatment focuses on villa and resort gardens, passing through the public Al Lulu Park and the nearby Awfa Rizk Mall.

The daytime biter

The daytime biter in Al Lulu shelters under dense plant foliage in gardens and in shaded gaps between villas and resorts.

A drainage grate over dark standing water

The one that comes out after sunset

After sunset mosquitoes activate around gardens and green spaces, moving from the shore toward villas and resorts.

An outdoor air-conditioning unit fixed to a building wall

Air-conditioning condensate

Air conditioner drainage from villas and resorts spills directly into surrounding gardens and gaps.

Water storage tanks on a building roof

The tank and its openings

Water tanks in villas and resorts must be tightly covered to keep mosquitoes out, especially as salt air may weaken covers.

Potted plants in a garden standing in saucers

Garden containers and irrigation

Irrigated gardens in villas and resorts and around courtyards provide constant water for mosquitoes.

Dense shrubs along a shaded garden wall

The shade it rests in

Shade from tall trees and dense vegetation and damp air give permanent daytime shelter to adult mosquitoes.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and map the water

We walk the perimeter, the roof, the garden, the meter chambers and the condensate runs, record everything that holds water, and read the species from the breeding site and the time of biting.

  2. 2

Remove the water that can go

Empty, invert, cover: saucers, containers, old tyres and roof gullies. Every point that disappears is a treatment that never needs repeating.

  3. 3

Larval treatment, then the resting surfaces

Water that cannot be drained is treated so the larva never completes, then a residual goes under planting, beneath outdoor furniture and along low shaded walls.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

We come back once the generation that was in the water on the first visit has completed, review every point we recorded and re-treat where needed.

What mosquito control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded water survey

Roof, perimeter, garden, meter chambers and condensate lines, written down before anything is applied.

  • A metal floor drain

    Draining and covering the sources

Emptying what can be emptied, draining what can be drained, and covering what has to stay full.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

Larval treatment for the water that stays

For ground tanks, inspection chambers, water features and any permanent water that has to remain.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

A residual on the resting places

Under trees and shrubs, beneath outdoor furniture and on shaded walls, where the adult sits out the day.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

What stays inverted, what gets covered, which openings need mesh, and when watering goes back to normal.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, with every recorded water point reviewed and re-treated if the water came back.

What is different about Dhahban Sub-Municipality

Dhahban sub municipality is the northern coastal strip of Jeddah, running from the north bank of Sharm Obhur up to the old village of Dhahban and Salman Bay. Its districts are recently built, with owner occupied villas and apartments, beach resorts and chalets on the shore, and land subdivisions still being developed. Nearness to the sea keeps humidity high all year, irrigated lawns in villas, resorts and district parks hold water, Wadi Obhur and the vacant plots between buildings give rodents and reptiles shelter, and the old fishing village of Dhahban gives the far north a rural edge.

Questions about this district

Could salt air in Al Lulu reduce treatment effectiveness?

Salt air may reduce the effectiveness of some treatments, especially exterior spraying. We may need higher concentrations or treatments designed for coastal areas. Repeated application may be needed in damp salty conditions.

Can villa and resort gardens alone sustain mosquitoes year round in Al Lulu?

Yes absolutely. Villas and resorts have large irrigated gardens, and high humidity provides fast development. Every garden can support a mosquito population.

Are damp foundations and high groundwater a mosquito source in Al Lulu?

Damp foundations may provide a damp environment, but surface standing water in gardens is the main source. Deep groundwater is less likely to host mosquitoes.

Are resorts and chalets on the beach an important mosquito source?

Yes, resorts and chalets can be major sources especially if they have swimming pools and irrigated gardens. Mosquitoes fly from resorts to nearby villas.

Should Al Lulu need year round treatment or only in the warm season?

High humidity means mosquitoes may breed even in winter. Year round regular treatment may be necessary, especially if gardens are watered year round.

Could the beach itself be a direct mosquito source in Al Lulu?

Sandy and rocky beaches usually do not offer good breeding habitat. But any standing water near the shore or in coastal gaps can become a mosquito site.

How much does mosquito control in Al Lulu cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Lulu.
