Mosquito control in Al Wazeeriyah Jeddah
Al Wazeeriyah is a small mixed district in south Jeddah with shops on the ground floors and flats above them. Narrow streets crowd between shops and parked cars. The shops are open for long hours and the flats house families all day. Mosquitoes move easily from the shops into shared voids and up to the upper flats.
-
Targeted, not broadcast
Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.
-
Told before we start
What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.
-
A follow-up visit
We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

Homes and businesses
Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.
Why they keep coming back in Al Wazeeriyah
Shared voids between shops and flats are damp and permanently in shade. Parked cars block sun and air flow and trap moisture. Shops leave standing water in corners that never dry. The method is set out in full on what Mosquito control involves.
Shops and flats are closely spaced with dark gaps between them
In Al Wazeeriyah shops and flats are very close together and the gaps between them are narrow and dark, receiving little sun. These tight spaces are an ideal daytime home for mosquitoes. Parked cars in front block ventilation and moisture stays trapped.
Air conditioner water from shops and flats drips into shared spaces
Shops and flats have many units and their condensate drips onto surfaces and the tight gaps between them. This water does not evaporate in shade and narrow voids. Every unit contributes to the problem because the water pools directly where mosquitoes shelter.
Shared stairways and old doors are mosquito highways between floors
Al Wazeeriyah is relatively old and stairs and doors need maintenance. Cracks in doors and gaps around pipes let mosquitoes climb from the shop to the flat easily. Every flat treatment must include the stair and door areas.
The character of Al Wazeeriyah
Mixed district: shops at street level with homes above them
A mixed district means the mosquito has multiple sources in shops, restaurants and flats all at once. Treatment in a single flat will not work unless we also treat the shared voids and the shop below it.
Standing water and shade decide the method
A compact district bounded by four streets, with apartment buildings and villas mixed with ground floor shops and restaurants, close to stadiums, hospitals and adjacent residential areas.
The daytime biter
The daytime biter in Al Wazeeriyah hides through the day in the darkness of gaps between shops and flats and voids below shared stairs.
The one that comes out after sunset
After sunset the mosquitoes emerge from the shared voids and enter the flats through doors, cracks, windows and openings around pipes.
Air-conditioning condensate
Air conditioner water from shops and flats drips onto surfaces and tight gaps between them and does not evaporate in the shade.
The tank and its openings
Water tanks are uncommon in Al Wazeeriyah but water from shops and restaurants pools in shared voids below the floors.
Garden containers and irrigation
Small neighbourhood gardens in the district are watered but most standing water comes from shops, air conditioners and shared spaces between floors.
The shade it rests in
Mosquitoes in Al Wazeeriyah hide in the tight gaps between shops and flats, shared stairs, voids below floors and dark passages, not in gardens.
How we work
-
1
Inspect and map the water
We walk the perimeter, the roof, the garden, the meter chambers and the condensate runs, record everything that holds water, and read the species from the breeding site and the time of biting.
-
2
Remove the water that can go
Empty, invert, cover: saucers, containers, old tyres and roof gullies. Every point that disappears is a treatment that never needs repeating.
-
3
Larval treatment, then the resting surfaces
Water that cannot be drained is treated so the larva never completes, then a residual goes under planting, beneath outdoor furniture and along low shaded walls.
-
4
The follow-up visit
We come back once the generation that was in the water on the first visit has completed, review every point we recorded and re-treat where needed.
What mosquito control includes
-
A recorded water survey
Roof, perimeter, garden, meter chambers and condensate lines, written down before anything is applied.
-
Draining and covering the sources
Emptying what can be emptied, draining what can be drained, and covering what has to stay full.
-
Larval treatment for the water that stays
For ground tanks, inspection chambers, water features and any permanent water that has to remain.
-
A residual on the resting places
Under trees and shrubs, beneath outdoor furniture and on shaded walls, where the adult sits out the day.
-
Aftercare instructions
What stays inverted, what gets covered, which openings need mesh, and when watering goes back to normal.
-
A scheduled follow-up
A set date after the first treatment, with every recorded water point reviewed and re-treated if the water came back.
What is different about South Sub-Municipality
The South sub municipality runs from the edge of Old Makkah Road down to Al Khumrah and the southern corniche. Dense residential districts sit beside new subdivisions such as Al Sanabil and Al Taawun, warehouse fringes such as Al Saruriyah and Al Sarawat, and an old seaside settlement at Al Quzayn. Open stormwater channels cross the housing, and the warehouses, the vegetable and livestock markets and the nearby Islamic Port and Industrial City give pests shelter, food and year round humidity. Pressure is greatest in the older quarters, where drainage networks are ageing.
Questions about this district
The shop below us is open all day and water drips under our flat. Is that the source?
Yes, certainly. Water from the shop drips into the voids below the flat and floor level. This water is in a dark tight space far from air flow, so it breeds quickly. We must treat the voids below your flat and check the shop drainage below.
A shared stair connects us to shops and other units through different openings. Do we need to treat there?
Yes, we must treat the stair and the openings around pipes, wires and the voids under the steps. A mosquito from another shop can reach your flat through the shared stair if we do not treat it.
The gaps between shops and our flat are constantly damp. Is there a solution?
The tight dark gaps between shops and flats trap moisture. They cannot dry completely but we can treat surfaces and walls deeply to stop mosquitoes sheltering in them.
Is treating just the flat enough, or must we treat the shop below as well?
The flat alone will not solve it because mosquitoes enter from the shop and shared voids. We need to agree with the shop owner to treat the gaps between you. If he refuses we can at least treat the openings and doors that face the flat.
Our flat is small and simple. Why are there so many mosquitoes?
A small flat in a mixed district is more exposed because the shops and shared voids are very close to the bedrooms. Even a small clean flat is not protected from mosquitoes from the nearby shop.
Do you treat the cars parked in front of shops and flats?
Parked cars block sun and air from the gaps between them and the building. We treat the voids around and below the cars. We do not spray the car itself but the space around it.
How much does mosquito control in Al Wazeeriyah cost?
It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Wazeeriyah.
