The second reason

Vacant and mixed commercial land

The scheme has multiple residential plots and commercial land not yet finished. Gaps between buildings and around fuel stations offer ideal insect habitat. We monitor this open land and may increase visits when commercial operations start.

The third reason

Desert insects and rodents

The desert surrounding the scheme harbours rodents, scorpions and various insects. As temperatures drop these creatures may attempt entry to new warm buildings, so we intensify the programme during seasonal transitions.

What a preventive visit reads

The base of the outside wall of new buildings faces pressure from the desert and the expressway, so we place a very strong residual there that protects from below entry and resists desert pressure.

Gaps and openings

Gaps around the foundations and pipes entering buildings may be weak points on new land, so we seal them tightly and monitor closely because desert pressure may be high.

Air conditioning drainage from new buildings may not yet be sealed completely, but we monitor water pooling around foundations and dry it quickly because it may attract insects from open land.

Monitoring points go around the foundations, at large voids and around the buildings' perimeter outside. Reading the points tells us real pressure from the desert, the expressway and open land.

How we work

The baseline survey

We walk the outside boundary and then the inside: gaps under doors, pipe runs, vents, condensate lines, drains, the bin area and the store, and we fix the monitoring points before anything is applied.

Close the routes

Mesh on the vents, the gap under the door dealt with, the sleeve around a pipe run closed, and water put back into the drain nobody uses. Exclusion saves a spray that would otherwise repeat forever.

The band and the placed product

A residual band at the base of the wall outside and around door and window openings, with placed product inside joints and closed voids where it is warranted, and no open spray across living surfaces.

The scheduled visit: read, renew, record

We read the points to see which side is under pressure, renew the band where sun or irrigation has taken it, aim the visit at what the coming season opens up, and write down what was found and what was used.

Questions about this district

Neighbouring land is open desert. Will insects from there enter the new building?

They may attempt entry especially as it cools, but the preventive programme stops them with a strong barrier around the foundations. Monitoring points tell us any entry attempts so we adjust the programme to the real pressure.

Fuel stations are nearby. Does that bring insects and chemical fumes?

Fuel stations may attract some insects but chemical odours may deter others. The programme is not greatly affected by fuel stations, but we monitor the area around them closely because it is a different activity point.

Building in the scheme is scattered. Will pressure continue when building finishes?

It may drop slightly when building ends, but pressure from the desert and the expressway may continue. Monitoring points tell us the changes, so we may reduce visits when building finishes but the programme does not stop.

The Fourth Ring Road is beside us. Does it bring pressure from other city areas?

Yes. The ring road may carry insects from different places, especially if it passes commercial or industrial zones. The programme focuses on a strong barrier around the foundations and monitoring points spread around the building.

In winter the desert is cool. Do insects reduce and can we reduce the programme?

Insects may reduce slightly, but cold desert may drive some insects toward warm buildings. Monitoring points tell us the truth, so we may reduce visits but do not stop them until the points show quiet.

The scheme is brand new and the ground is clean. Is preventive spraying needed now?

Yes. The programme starts now because clean ground may receive desert pressure quickly. Early start prevents insects establishing in the new home before they become a real problem.
