We treat the rodents and the geckos on the perimeter, then return once that activity has settled to check the sealed points and look for any fresh track.

The shop below my flat is closed now. Is the danger gone?

A closed shop becomes shelter for rats and geckos. Snakes may still enter the building for other reasons: damp in the foundation, broken pipes, unsealed gaps. Closing the shop alone is not enough if the environment beneath you remains favourable to rodents.

Does a wider district with newer buildings reduce snake risk here?

A wider district actually offers more ground for rats and small animals to thrive. Newer buildings may have fewer large shared voids, but they may contain modern pipes prone to leaking. The risk exists in every type of building.

If we treat the gaps beneath the shop below us, does that end the snake threat to our flat?
