Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

Yes, if the garden continues to supply food and water regularly. The primary deterrent is the roof and walls, but if you want to reduce pigeon numbers you must also cut back irrigation and feeding, and seal entry points in the boundary wall itself.

Our new villa has a clean roof. Why did pigeons choose it so quickly?

The elevated terrain, the gardens and the permanent water supply make Al Awali attractive to pigeons already migrating from the holy sites. A new clean roof is a safer choice than old buildings. Speed of settlement depends on how many pigeons are already in the district.
