How we work

Survey the roof and the facade

We walk the roof, the projections, the condenser platforms and the shafts, separate the nesting positions from the perching ones, and measure and photograph every ledge.

Strip the nests and treat the parasites

Droppings are wetted before they are lifted so nothing goes airborne dry, bagged closed, and the nest position is treated for ticks and mites before the surface is sanitised.

Close and fit

Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

The follow-up visit

We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.

Al Ghazza sub municipality wraps around the north and west of the Grand Mosque, from Al Shamiyah, Al Qararah and Shaib Amir round to Jarwal and Al Taysir. Large tracts were cleared for the northern expansion and the Rua Al Haram scheme, leaving excavated ground and open construction sites beside ageing blocks that now serve as dense seasonal lodgings in Jarwal and Al Taysir. Old flood paths still fall from Jabal Qaiqaan and Jabal Khandamah towards the mosque, and markets and eateries crowd Al Masjid Al Haram Road and Umm Al Qura Road.

The hotel and flats are constantly full of guests. How do you work there?

We coordinate with hotel and building management to understand guest schedules and find quiet times. We fit the deterrent without disturbance, and roof work does not disturb guests.

The building is extremely tall and the roof is far up. How do you reach it?

We use safe climbing equipment and a team trained in high work. Working on very tall roofs needs skill and training, and the team's safety is our priority.

Al Taysir Street is very crowded with pedestrians and traffic. Is work safe?

Work on the rooftop is safe. The busy street does not affect safety because the team works on the high roof. We schedule work at quieter times.

Pigeons perch on hotel ledges. Can they enter the rooms?

They can if windows and balconies are left open. The roof deterrent stops them landing and nesting. We advise the hotel to close balconies when not in use.

Umrah season draws huge numbers of pigeons. Does the deterrent hold up?

Yes, it does. The deterrent lasts year round, with peak pressure in season. We advise regular inspection and scheduled maintenance, especially after busy Umrah periods.
