How we work

Survey the roof and the facade

We walk the roof, the projections, the condenser platforms and the shafts, separate the nesting positions from the perching ones, and measure and photograph every ledge.

Strip the nests and treat the parasites

Droppings are wetted before they are lifted so nothing goes airborne dry, bagged closed, and the nest position is treated for ticks and mites before the surface is sanitised.

Close and fit

Netting tensioned on a perimeter wire with no gap at the corners, spikes or wire on the narrow projections, metal mesh across vents and shafts, and the roof drains freed of the nest material packing them.

The follow-up visit

We come back to check the tension, the corners and any position the flock has moved to, and correct what has slackened before a bird finds it.

What is different about Al Sharai Sub-Municipality

Al Sharai is the eastern growth front of Makkah along King Faisal Road and the Taif road. Settled quarters sit beside recently renamed schemes where plots are still vacant and buildings are going up, so construction sites, fill and open excavations lie next to occupied homes. Wadi channels such as Wadi Mudarraja, Wadi Al Sharai and Wadi Al Mughammas carry flash floods after rain and dry out to damp silt, while dust blows off the open hills. Roadside shops, restaurants and warehouses line the Taif road, and to the east the area shades into villages, palm farms and springs.

Questions about this district

Is mesh fitting legally and religiously permitted inside the Haram boundary?

Yes it is permitted. Barriers protect homes and do not harm birds. We use soft plastic spikes and fine mesh. You must first confirm approval from the Makkah municipality authorities.

Construction is still ongoing; do we fit the deterrent now or wait until building is finished?

Wait until construction ends. Sites under development may change and pigeons may not have settled yet. Wait for the complete building to finish.

The nearby mountains hold historic caves; can we seal them to stop pigeons?

Historic caves are protected and cannot be sealed. Treatment focuses on protecting your homes from pigeons, not sealing the caves.

Heavy pilgrim and umrah visitor traffic; does this affect the pigeons?

Yes significantly. Pilgrims throw bread, and pigeons multiply during hajj and umrah seasons. Treatment may need repeating in the peak seasons.

Are there nearby water sources that attract pigeons?

Old wells and springs may exist. But treatment focuses on protecting the homes. If an open spring is present, notify the relevant authorities.
