Cockroach control in Muad Makkah

Muad grew out of the old Sharai'e plan number two, on the eastern edge of Makkah beyond the Haram boundary, and its blocks are still filling one flat at a time while building work carries on next door. That mix matters for cockroaches: they can cross from an empty, untreated flat or a nearby site into your new kitchen before the block is even full. We start by finding the route they took.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Muad

In Muad we often see the first roach turn up in a flat weeks after the family moves in, well before the block is full, arriving through a shared pipe from an empty unit above or below. The method is set out in full on our Cockroach control service.

The first reason

A block that fills flat by flat

In Muad, units come into use one after another, so an empty, untreated flat can sit right next to a lived-in one. The German cockroach travels between them through the shared kitchen and bathroom pipes, which is why we treat the whole route rather than your flat on its own.

The second reason

Building sites on the edges

The outskirts of Muad are still being dug and built. Excavation turns over the soil and cuts into temporary drainage, and that pushes the American cockroach out of site drains towards the finished flats nearby. Ground-floor homes and stores feel it first, so those get the closest attention.

The third reason

Second-hand furniture into a brand-new home

Most people in Muad have arrived recently, and many bring a used fridge or cooker into a kitchen no one has lived in before. A single egg case tucked into the fold of an old appliance is enough to start an infestation in a kitchen that is otherwise spotless.

Before treatment

The species and the place decide the method

Muad sits on high, rocky ground east of the Haram boundary, between Al-Khadra and Al-Sharai'e. Its drainage was laid recently, and excavation and construction are still active around its edges, so the ground and the pipework are both freshly disturbed.

A small light brown German cockroach

German cockroach

The German cockroach usually reaches Muad inside the used appliances and furniture that new residents bring with them, then settles into the warmth of the kitchen and breeds out of sight.

A larger dark cockroach on a wooden surface

American cockroach

The American cockroach comes up from the newly laid drains and the building sites nearby, showing itself on ground floors, in electrical rooms and around the mouths of pipes.

An oven and gas hob beneath wooden shelving

Appliance heat

Muad's new kitchens run their appliances hard, and the steady warmth of the fridge and oven gives the German cockroach a spot where it stays active right through the year.

A kitchen with a fridge; the gap behind it is a classic nest

The gap behind the fridge

When furniture goes into a new flat the fridge is pushed back to the wall, and the warm gap behind it becomes the first hiding place a roach settles into, away from view.

A tap carrying water droplets

Water before food

A roach looks for water before food, and the damp of a new bathroom or kitchen, before the building has fully dried out, is often the first thing that draws it in Muad's flats.

A dimly lit kitchen at night

What you see at night

The roach you see at night on the new kitchen tiles is not the start of it, but a sign of a larger nest hidden behind an appliance or inside a pipe close by.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and identify

We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.

  2. 2

    Treat the harbourage

Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.

  3. 3

    Close what can be closed

We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.

What cockroach control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded inspection

Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Placed gel bait

In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

    Targeted spray where needed

On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drain and entry treatment

Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.

Questions about this district

My building is new, so why are there roaches already?

Being new does not mean being clear of them. In Muad's blocks, which fill up gradually, cockroaches move through the shared pipework from an empty unit or a nearby site and settle in the first kitchen with water and warmth, even a brand-new one.

The flat next to mine is empty, does that matter?

Yes. An empty, untreated unit becomes a quiet refuge where roaches breed, then cross into your flat through the kitchen and bathroom pipes. That is why we treat the shared route and seal the crossing points between the two units, not your flat alone.

There's construction around us, is that the source?

Often, yes. Excavation and temporary drainage on building sites drive the American cockroach out of the soil and the sewers, and it heads for the nearest finished flat. Ground floors and storerooms in Muad are the most exposed, so we focus on those and on the pipe entries.

I brought a used fridge and furniture, could they carry roaches?

Yes, and it is a common source in Muad because most residents are new. The German cockroach hides its egg cases in the folds of used appliances and drawers, then rides into a clean kitchen. We check these pieces first and treat their hiding spots before they spread.

Should the whole building be treated together?

When the infestation is in the shared pipework, treating one flat only drives the roaches to the neighbours and they come back. In Muad's part-occupied blocks we suggest coordinating treatment across the connected units as far as possible, so the whole route is closed at once.

The bathroom is new, why do they show up there first?

Because a roach looks for water before food. A new bathroom stays damp around the drain and the trap, and that moisture is enough to draw it in before it ever reaches the kitchen. We treat the drain outlets and the gaps around the pipes first.

How much does cockroach control in Muad cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Muad.
