Cockroach control in Sharai Makkah

Sharai keeps growing along King Faisal Road in Makkah's north-east: new blocks fill up gradually, with bare plots and building sites still scattered between them. That mix changes the job. Here cockroaches often reach a home from the ground next door or the new drainage line before anything breeds inside, so we start at the boundary of the property, not the kitchen alone.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Sharai

In recently occupied Sharai buildings the first sighting is usually near an inspection chamber or a drain entry rather than inside the kitchen, which tells us the pressure is coming from outside. The method is set out in full on the full Cockroach control page.

The first reason

Land still being built on

The district expands constantly, and finished blocks sit beside excavations and vacant plots where water collects. The American cockroach travels from these gaps into the ground floor through the drains, so we seal the entry points before we treat anything indoors.

The second reason

Villas with carried-in furniture, flats with shared risers

New villa owners often move in second-hand kitchens and furniture that can carry German cockroach eggs, while the flats share vertical pipework that moves cockroaches between floors. Each housing type has a different route, and we follow the one that fits your home.

The third reason

A drainage network that has not settled

In parts of Sharai the drainage is new or still being connected, and the street inspection chambers sit close to the entrances. Those gaps are a direct corridor for the larger cockroaches toward the first open door, which is why the perimeter matters as much as the kitchen.

Before treatment

The species and the place decide the method

The many empty plots and building sites between occupied blocks give the American cockroach a damp refuge in drains and inspection chambers. From there it crawls toward the nearest lit home at dusk, often reaching the ground floor first.

A small light brown German cockroach

German cockroach

It usually arrives with the used kitchens and furniture moved into Sharai's new villas, starting small behind drawers and inside cabinet joints before it spreads through the room.

A larger dark cockroach on a wooden surface

American cockroach

The larger one comes from the bare plots, drains and inspection chambers between the blocks, showing up on ground floors, in car parks and in bathrooms rather than upstairs.

An oven and gas hob beneath wooden shelving

Appliance heat

New kitchens here are packed with appliances, and the warmth from a fridge or oven motor gives the German cockroach the steady heat it needs to stay active all year.

A kitchen with a fridge; the gap behind it is a classic nest

The gap behind the fridge

In a new flat the fridge is pushed flat against the wall, and the warm gap behind it becomes the first place a cockroach hides and breeds, out of sight.

A tap carrying water droplets

Water before food

A cockroach looks for water before food, and fresh plumbing leaks under the sink or behind the water heater supply it, so we begin the inspection at the damp points.

A dimly lit kitchen at night

What you see at night

A single cockroach on the wall at night in a new home means others are hidden near a drain or a damp gap, so we look for the harbourage, not just that one.

How we work

  1. 1

    Inspect and identify

We work through the kitchen, the bathrooms and the drain runs, and establish the species, the harbourage points and the moisture keeping them there.

  2. 2

    Treat the harbourage

Gel bait into joints and cracks, targeted spray where it is warranted, and dust in the dry voids behind appliances.

  3. 3

    Close what can be closed

We point out the gaps, the drain entries and anything needing a plumber, because exclusion does more to stop a return than repeating the spray.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

We come back once the surviving egg cases have hatched, check the points and re-treat where needed.

What cockroach control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

    A recorded inspection

Species, harbourage points and moisture sources, established before anything is applied.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Placed gel bait

In cabinet joints, cracks and behind appliances, where the insect actually travels.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

    Targeted spray where needed

On runways and junctions, never on preparation surfaces or open floors.

  • A metal floor drain

    Drain and entry treatment

Floor traps, shafts and pipe entries, which is where the larger species comes from.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

Ventilation, what to cover, and when surfaces can be cleaned without undoing the work.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, and re-treatment of anything still active.

Questions about this district

My building is newly occupied, so why are there already cockroaches?

A new build is not automatically clear. Cockroaches arrive with building materials and moved-in furniture, or crawl in from a neighbouring site and the fresh drainage. We start by working out whether the source is inside the unit or coming from outside it.

There is a bare plot next to us. Is that the cause?

The vacant plots in Sharai collect water and waste and shelter the American cockroach in their drains. From there it crosses into the nearest building through drains and openings, so we treat the outdoor entry points as well as the inside of your home.

I moved a second-hand kitchen into the villa. Can it carry them?

Yes. Used kitchens and furniture are among the most common ways the German cockroach and its eggs enter a new home. We check the drawers, corners and rear fittings first, because the egg cases hide in the narrow joints where they are hard to see.

Building work continues around us. Does it push cockroaches toward us?

Nearby digging and demolition disturb cockroach harbourages in the ground and drains, and they look for shelter in the finished homes next door. We close the likely routes and treat the perimeter so the movement does not repeat with each stage of construction.

The villa has a garden. Do the irrigation and outdoor drains matter?

Irrigation lines and garden drains keep the soil damp against the walls, and that draws the American cockroach to the edge of the villa. We check the outdoor drain openings and the door thresholds before it finds a way inside.

Do cockroaches move between the flats through the pipes?

In Sharai's blocks the flats share vertical pipework and neighbouring drain openings, so a cockroach can move between floors even when your own flat is clean. That is why we treat the shared routes and not only your unit.

How much does cockroach control in Sharai cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Sharai.
