The district lies between Al Usaylah to the south and Al Khadra, with the Haram boundary marker on King Faisal Road at its southern edge. Vacant land rises towards the Al Shifa hills with white building plots scattered among new apartment blocks.

Touch points in new flats may be made of new materials and disinfectant application differs. New metal doors, railings and handles need careful product choice to avoid damaging fresh finishes.

What is different about Al Sharai Sub-Municipality

Al Sharai is the eastern growth front of Makkah along King Faisal Road and the Taif road. Settled quarters sit beside recently renamed schemes where plots are still vacant and buildings are going up, so construction sites, fill and open excavations lie next to occupied homes. Wadi channels such as Wadi Mudarraja, Wadi Al Sharai and Wadi Al Mughammas carry flash floods after rain and dry out to damp silt, while dust blows off the open hills. Roadside shops, restaurants and warehouses line the Taif road, and to the east the area shades into villages, palm farms and springs.

Questions about this district

My flat in Maqam has dust entering from the vacant land. Does disinfection help?

It helps but dust will continue while land stays vacant. Treatment focuses on sealing openings and treating air conditioning units. Repetition will need to be more frequent than in built up districts.

Moisture from Wadi Mudarraja affects my flat. How do we handle it?

Wadi moisture is hard to solve by disinfection alone. We choose a disinfectant for damp conditions and focus on drying floors and corners before application. Floor drain traps may need special attention.

Is my ground floor flat near the wadi treated differently than higher ones?

Yes. Flats near the wadi face more moisture and disinfectant may not last as long. We may need to treat areas below floors and gaps separately.

How often should a flat be disinfected because of vacant land and hills?

Flats surrounded by vacant land need treatment every six to eight weeks at minimum. Dust and moisture return much faster than in built up districts.

Does the air conditioning unit close to the hills and open land need special treatment?

Very much. The outside outlet may be a continuous dust entry point. Cleaning the air unit of dust before treatment is essential.

Do north facing flats looking at the hills and vacant land need stronger treatment?

Yes. North facing flats face wind and dust from the hills directly. They may need stronger disinfectant and faster repetition than other flats.
