The first reason

Close set villas with irrigated gardens

Villas in Sharai sit adjoining one another with thin shared walls and narrow gaps around their footings. Irrigated gardens provide high humidity and water seepage can move from one garden to the adjacent villa's foundation. Fleas spread between villas through the gaps beneath walls and shared utility runs.

The second reason

Low lying ground with water pooling

Parts of the Sharai scheme have low ground where rain and irrigation water collect between properties. These damp areas between villas attract insects and rodents. Fleas may arrive with rodents from these wet gaps.

Easy movement across the Haram boundary

Sharai's western edge runs on the Haram boundary, and gaps around religious boundaries may shelter animals and insects. Fleas may arrive from these boundaries which run very close to homes.

We confirm it is fleas rather than another biting insect, and fix the animal's sleeping points, its routes and the shaded ground outside. Where there is no animal in the house, we look for the host they came from.

Treat the floors and soft furnishings

A residual with an insect growth regulator, worked into the carpet base, the floor and wall junction and the edges under furniture. The regulator stops a larva becoming an adult, which is what breaks the cycle.

The host and the shade outside

We treat the shaded ground and the outdoor lying spots, and we agree with you that the animal's veterinary treatment happens on the same day, because any host left out of the job re-seeds the floor.

Vacuuming, then the follow-up visit

Repeated vacuuming vibrates the floor and draws the pupae out onto a treated surface. We come back about two weeks later to take the emerged generation before it lays.
