We trace the flies back to their medium: waste and the bin area, floor traps, drain runs and any standing organic wetness, and we identify the species from its size, its flight and where it settles.

Washing and scouring bin bases and floor traps, and a foam that treats the film inside the pipe, because removing the medium is the only thing that stops production.

Treat the resting surfaces

A fly spends most of its time settled on ceilings, cables, the tops of walls and the sunlit wall outside the door, and that is where the residual and the bait go, not into the air.

Proofing and the follow-up

We close the ways in and sort out the screens and the doors, then come back on a date matching the emergence of the pupae that were already in the medium on the first visit.

What is different about South Sub-Municipality

The South sub municipality runs from the edge of Old Makkah Road down to Al Khumrah and the southern corniche. Dense residential districts sit beside new subdivisions such as Al Sanabil and Al Taawun, warehouse fringes such as Al Saruriyah and Al Sarawat, and an old seaside settlement at Al Quzayn. Open stormwater channels cross the housing, and the warehouses, the vegetable and livestock markets and the nearby Islamic Port and Industrial City give pests shelter, food and year round humidity. Pressure is greatest in the older quarters, where drainage networks are ageing.

Questions about this district

Is treating the open channel the main solution for fly problems here?

Channel treatment is vital but not the only answer. Flies breed in bins, warehouses and underground drains too. Coordinated treatment of the channel, homes and shops together brings much better results.

Can the channel be treated without treating the homes above it?

Channel treatment alone brings temporary improvement, but flies in the homes migrate to the channel and return. Coordinated treatment of both channel and homes produces longer lasting results.

Do villas far from the channel need treatment?

Villas set back from the channel may seem protected, but flies travel far when they find a food source. If the villas hold waste or have old drains, they are vulnerable without treatment.

When is fly pressure worst in Al Mahjar?

Flies worsen in spring and summer when heat and humidity peak together. Winter brings brief relief, but flies do not stop because protected sources below ground and warm hospitals keep breeding.

Is one channel treatment enough?

Is closing or covering the channel a solution?
