Very much so. Pilgrims carry food and bottles, Umrah guests buy from nearby markets, and waste accumulates fast below homes. Flies never decrease because visitor traffic continues year-round without pause.

The market is joined to my house. How do I protect it?

We fit fine mesh screens on your windows as much as possible, treat drainage and ventilation openings between your home and the market, and install air curtains over doors. You also remove food scraps quickly and keep all food covered at all times.

The alleys are extremely narrow and ventilation is poor. Does this make it worse?

Narrow alleys trap moisture and food odours that attract flies, and reduce airflow which increases damp. The problem exists, but poor ventilation means food smells linger longer and attract flies from greater distances away.

Can treating my home help when the market is right beside it?

Treatment helps but flies return from the market quickly. We focus on sealing entry points and drain outlets as the priority, and regularly treat the surfaces where flies rest to prevent new arrivals from settling.

During Hajj and Umrah seasons the problem gets much worse?
