Scorpion control in Al Huda Jeddah

Al Huda is a south Jeddah residential district that evolved from Al Tahlawi into a modern scheme, with three storey apartment blocks and new villas rising beside them. Shared entrances and partition walls between units are the scorpion's main routes in, and vacant land between the new villas attracts scorpions while building continues.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Huda

Vacant land between new villas attracts scorpions and small insects, and tracking scorpions as they move from a new villa to an old flat beside it becomes difficult when the district is incomplete. The method is set out in full on Scorpion control in detail.

The first reason

Shared entrances in older apartment blocks

Older apartment blocks have a single shared entrance serving several flats, and the gaps around pipes in this entrance are not properly sealed. Scorpions enter directly from outside into the shared lobby and then climb into multiple flats through pipes and crevices.

The second reason

Partition walls between adjoining residential units

Flats next to each other in the same building share partition walls without adequate sealing, and cracks in these walls provide passages for scorpions to cross. If a scorpion enters one flat through a defective seal, it can cross into the neighbouring unit through the shared wall.

The third reason

Vacant land and new villas beside it

New villas stand on plots that were vacant and remain surrounded by wide gaps while the district fills in. Scorpions move from these empty spaces into the new villas, and complete treatment of the villa perimeter is necessary because the district is not yet finished.

What we check outside before we go in

The district lies on relatively low ground, Al Laith Road borders it to the south, and the soil here holds moisture longer than higher districts, creating conditions favourable to scorpions and their prey.

An exterior block boundary wall showing joints and cracks

Wall joints and boundary walls

The joints between flats and load bearing walls contain shared pipes, and cracks around them provide scorpion routes, especially in older blocks.

Blocks and stones stacked in the corner of a yard

Rubble and stacked block

Building debris from new villas accumulates on neighbouring vacant plots, and scorpions use this rubble as shelter.

Dry palm fronds lying on the ground

Palm fronds and garden litter

Palm fronds from newly planted trees in the park accumulate round the bases of villas and apartment blocks.

The space between an exterior door and its threshold

The gap under the door

Gaps under doors in old flats are relatively wide and new villas have unsealed gaps around their foundations.

A drip irrigation line over damp soil

Irrigation and damp soil

Irrigation systems in the park and new villas maintain constant moisture, and wet soil attracts small insects and scorpions hunting them.

A light fitting mounted on an exterior wall

The light by the door

Lights at flat entrances and villa doors stay on, drawing small insects and the scorpions that prey on them at night.

How we work

  1. 1

    Night survey and perimeter inspection

We walk the perimeter after dark with an ultraviolet lamp, which makes a scorpion show up against wall and soil, and we record the harbourage, the ways in and how much prey is present.

  2. 2

Treat the harbourage and the building edge

Dust into the wall joints and the dry voids, and a targeted band tight against the foundation and around openings, because the material holds longer on a porous surface than on tile.

  3. 3

Close the ways in and remove the prey

A sweep under the doors, sealing where air-conditioning and drain pipes pass through, mesh over openings, and treatment of the cockroaches and insects it feeds on, so the reason to come in goes with them.

  4. 4

    The follow-up visit

A scorpion can sit in its harbourage for weeks without moving, so the first pass does not always reach it. We come back to refresh the perimeter band and check what has appeared since.

What scorpion control includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

A night survey with an ultraviolet lamp

A walk of the perimeter after dark that fixes the harbourage and the entry routes before anything is applied.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

    Targeted perimeter and joint treatment

A band against the foundation, plus wall joints and cracks, never open floors or where children play.

  • A metal floor drain

    Sealing openings and pipe entries

Drain openings, the points where air-conditioning pipes pass through, and mesh on shafts, which are the routes actually used.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Treating what it feeds on

Placed bait for cockroaches at entrances and service areas, because cutting the food supply reduces visits more than repeating a spray.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    Aftercare instructions

What to lift out of the yard, where to move the outside light, and the ventilation time for your situation, which we give you on site.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    A scheduled follow-up

A set date after the first treatment, a refreshed perimeter band and a check of anything new around it.

Landmarks of Al Huda

The district spreads between Al Huda Mosque and Al Huda Park, and we use these landmarks to identify homes closest to green spaces and most exposed to scorpions and small insects attracted to vegetation.

Questions about this district

Is treating the inside of my flat enough if the building is old construction?

No, interior treatment kills scorpions present, but external treatment of the shared entrance and partition walls is necessary to prevent new scorpions entering.

If my new villa sits next to vacant land, is it more at risk from scorpions?

Yes, vacant land provides shelter for scorpions. Complete perimeter treatment of the villa and sealing any gaps around the foundation is essential.

What differs between treating a new villa and an old flat in Al Huda?

A new villa is surrounded by vacant land and needs complete perimeter treatment. An old flat is surrounded by other buildings and needs shared entrance and partition wall treatment.

Is sealing every gap and window in my flat enough to stop scorpions?

Sealing helps but is not enough, because scorpions can enter through the shared entrance and partition wall before reaching your windows.

What should be done if a scorpion appears in an old flat next to a new villa?

The flat must be treated from the inside, and the wall between flat and villa must also be treated because scorpions can move between them.

Does the nearby Al Huda public park increase the scorpion risk in the district?

The park provides small insects and food for scorpions, and homes near it are more exposed. Treating gaps between the house and the park is important.

How much does scorpion control in Al Huda cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Huda.
