Questions about this district

How often yearly does Al Zahra need disinfection because of salt and damp?

Three to four times yearly at minimum. Airborne salt and wadi moisture create ideal conditions for mould and fungal growth. Quarterly treatment is the baseline requirement.

Does white salt on the walls stop disinfection from working?

Yes, salt forms a barrier between the disinfectant and the surface. Salt deposits must be mechanically cleaned first before treatment can reach the underlying material.

Can the white salt be stopped from returning after cleaning and disinfecting?

No. Salt comes from the sea air directly. Frequency of cleaning reduces it temporarily, but prevention is impossible. Repeated treatment is essential.

Does disinfection help with the damp smell in a home close to the wadi?

Temporarily yes, but if damp comes continuously from the wadi, smell returns quickly. Ventilation and drying must improve alongside treatment.
