The first reason

Surrounding construction brings constant dust

Tarwiyah is ringed by ongoing building from Sharai, Rashidiyah and vacant land. Digging and building sites raise dust continuously and exhaust from construction machinery enters flats and villas. Disinfection needs strong exterior treatment and faster repetition.

The second reason

Wadi Mudarraja, moisture and silt

Wadi Mudarraja cuts through from the east. Water runs after rain then dries leaving dampness and silt in low spots. Moisture rises into villas and flats near the wadi and disinfectant will not dry quickly on damp ground.

The third reason

New ground and incomplete infrastructure

Drainage and levelling are not fully complete in parts of the scheme. Ground is unsettled and water gathers after rain. New foundations may be very damp and treatment needs preliminary drying before any disinfectant can be applied effectively.

What we look at before the product is chosen

The district lies between King Abdulaziz Sports City to the north east and the channel of Wadi Mudarraja to the east. Construction is incomplete and vacant plots shelter insects and pests.

The touch points

Touch points in new Tarwiyah flats may be made of new materials and the disinfectant is chosen carefully to avoid marking fresh finishes. New metal doors and handles need special attention to prevent surface damage.

Porous surfaces

Absorbent surfaces like concrete and brick soak moisture fast in damp conditions. Disinfectant may not stay wet long enough so we select a product for damp environments and may leave surfaces wet longer to penetrate.

The finish itself

New finishes may be incomplete and gaps between surfaces harbour dust and microbes. The disinfectant must reach deep into gaps to clear construction contamination trapped inside them.

Air conditioning units in flats near the wadi may be affected by high moisture and the outside outlet can become a moisture source. Treatment focuses on cleaning both outlet and interior of moisture first.

We take the film of dust and grease off the surfaces that are in scope, so the product reaches the surface itself. This is preparation for the treatment, not general house cleaning.

Apply it, and hold the contact time

Hand work on the touch points, a product matched to each surface, and the surface left visibly wet for as long as that material needs before it is dried off. Cold fogging comes last, for what a cloth cannot reach.

What is different about Al Sharai Sub-Municipality

Al Sharai is the eastern growth front of Makkah along King Faisal Road and the Taif road. Settled quarters sit beside recently renamed schemes where plots are still vacant and buildings are going up, so construction sites, fill and open excavations lie next to occupied homes. Wadi channels such as Wadi Mudarraja, Wadi Al Sharai and Wadi Al Mughammas carry flash floods after rain and dry out to damp silt, while dust blows off the open hills. Roadside shops, restaurants and warehouses line the Taif road, and to the east the area shades into villages, palm farms and springs.

Questions about this district

My flat in Tarwiyah has construction dust entering constantly. Does disinfection help?

It helps but dust will continue while building goes on. Treatment focuses on sealing openings and cleaning surfaces of dust before disinfecting, and repetition will need to be more frequent than in finished districts.

Wadi Mudarraja beside the district raises moisture. How does it affect disinfection?

Valley moisture affects it greatly. The disinfectant will not dry quickly on damp ground. We choose a product for damp conditions and focus on drying damp areas before application.

Is a first floor flat near the wadi treated differently than one higher up?

Yes. Flats near the wadi face more moisture and disinfectant may not last as long. We may need to treat foundations and subsurface gaps separately.

How often should a flat in Tarwiyah scheme be disinfected because of surrounding building?

Flats in a scheme still under construction need treatment every four to six weeks at minimum. Outside dust and pollutants return much faster than in finished districts.

Does severe moisture from the wadi stop disinfectant drying properly?

It does not stop drying but slows it significantly. We may need extra treatment of foundations and gaps. We choose a stronger disinfectant and may leave it wet longer in damp zones.

Should yard and garden be disinfected before the flat if it is a villa?

Yes. The yard is the first source of dust and pollution. Treating it first stops contaminants returning quickly to the villa interior after disinfection.
