Rest houses and farms in Al Taysir Makkah

Al Taysir is a multi storey residential district west of the Grand Mosque between Jarwal and Al Zahir, with apartment blocks and hotel towers for Umrah visitors and constant foot traffic year round, and small rest houses and farms here face mosquitoes from water pooling around hotel towers, humidity-attracted pests and insects transported in by continuous movement and luggage from everywhere.

  • Targeted, not broadcast

Product goes into cracks and runways, never sprayed across open surfaces.

  • Told before we start

What we will use, where it goes, and what to cover or move before we arrive.

  • A follow-up visit

We return after the first treatment, because what survives it does not show on the day.

  • Homes and businesses

Apartments and villas, and kitchens and stores that need a record of each visit.

Why they keep coming back in Al Taysir

Seasonal pilgrim movement brings pests from different regions, and food scraps and luggage become shelter for insects. The method is set out in full on our Rest houses and farms service.

The first reason

Nearby hotel towers store water and pests

Hotel towers around Al Taysir hold water pools and cisterns and air conditioning units that leak water. This water draws mosquitoes and harbours pests. Rest houses nearby feel mosquito waves in summer and autumn. We focus on removing all standing water around the rest house and hotel tower entrances.

The second reason

Seasonal pilgrim movement imports new pests

Pilgrims arrive from different regions and carry pests with them: insects in luggage, clothes and belongings. Rest houses nearby become transit points for pests. We focus on inspecting incoming luggage, seasonal rooms and disinfecting shared spaces.

The third reason

High residential and hotel density produces waste and water

Dense hotel and residential blocks leave daily waste and water from air conditioning and kitchens. Shared drainage and water pipes attract rodents and cockroaches. The programme focuses on reducing waste and standing water rather than spray alone.

Landmarks of Al Taysir

Work in Al Taysir centres on Umm Al Qura Road from the south and the Grand Mosque from north and east, and movement between treatment points follows Al Taysir Street, which threads the district and links it to the hotel towers and residential blocks. Entry points and treatment sequences are organised around this main street axis.

Before treatment

The site decides the shape of the programme

A multi storey residential district west of the Grand Mosque, apartment blocks and hotel towers for Umrah visitors, Umm Al Qura Road nearby, constant foot traffic throughout the year.

A concrete boundary wall with open sandy ground behind it

The foot of the wall

The wall in Al Taysir sits next to tall hotel towers and residential blocks, and the treatment band must protect against water seeping down from above and pests coming from the towers.

Dry palm fronds and building blocks piled on the ground

Frond and block piles

Material heaps around the rest house are very damp from tower leaks, humidity and poor ventilation around tall buildings. We move all heaps and expose ground fully.

An irrigation channel holding still water beside cultivated ground

Standing water

Standing water comes from hotel and air conditioning leaks and kitchens, not only irrigation. Every pool needs investigation for source and drainage.

Feed sacks stacked on a store floor

The feed store

The store in a seasonal rest house may be empty between seasons or full during them. We inspect before and after seasons and disinfect from pests.

An empty pen with straw on the floor and a metal rail

Pens and bedding

Small hotel rooms attached to the rest house need separate treatment before pilgrims arrive. Furnishings and bedding must be inspected and floors treated.

A closed metal exterior door with the gap beneath it visible

The building that stays shut

Sealed rooms and chambers between seasons may become cockroach and spider colonies. Full disinfection before and after season matters more than continuous treatment.

How we work

  1. 1

Walk the site and number the points

We walk the boundary, the feed store, the pens, the water sources and the buildings, record the species present, the burrows, the entry points and every standing water source, and number the monitoring positions on a plan.

  2. 2

    Lift what things hide under

The piles, the rubble, the fallen dates, the feed sacks pushed up against the wall. On any large plot these gather simply because there is room for them, and clearing them brings the numbers down before a single product is used.

  3. 3

The perimeter band and targeted treatment

A band at the foot of the wall and the buildings, treatment into the burrows and cracks, locked rodent stations fixed along the route, and mosquito breeding sites treated in the water itself.

  4. 4

Scheduled visits and a sheet each time

We come back on an agreed schedule, read the same points, renew the band the sun and the irrigation have used up, and write down what was found, what was applied and where, and what the site needs closed.

What the rest house and farm programme includes

  • A technician inspecting with a flashlight

A site walk and a map of the points

The boundary, the buildings, the pens and the water sources, and a plan with the monitoring positions numbered before anything is installed.

  • A metal floor drain

Water sources treated at the source

Drinking troughs, drip lines, tank outlets and anything that stands for days, because mosquitoes come out of water and not out of the air.

  • A spray nozzle in close detail

A treated band at the perimeter

The foot of the wall, the building bases and the path edges, which is the line anything coming off the open ground has to cross.

  • A gloved hand applying bait into a joint

    Locked rodent stations

Fixed and numbered along one route, and closed so that neither a child's hand nor an animal on the site can get into them.

  • A clean kitchen counter after treatment

    What the site does afterwards

What to cover, where to move animal water bowls, when irrigation can start again without washing the band off, and the ventilation time, which we give you on the call because it changes with the product and the space.

  • The visit report being written on a clipboard

    Scheduled visits and a record

A schedule agreed ahead of the seasons, the same points read every time, and a record of what was found, what was treated and what is still open.

What is different about Al Ghazza Sub-Municipality

Al Ghazza sub municipality wraps around the north and west of the Grand Mosque, from Al Shamiyah, Al Qararah and Shaib Amir round to Jarwal and Al Taysir. Large tracts were cleared for the northern expansion and the Rua Al Haram scheme, leaving excavated ground and open construction sites beside ageing blocks that now serve as dense seasonal lodgings in Jarwal and Al Taysir. Old flood paths still fall from Jabal Qaiqaan and Jabal Khandamah towards the mosque, and markets and eateries crowd Al Masjid Al Haram Road and Umm Al Qura Road.

Questions about this district

Hotel towers next door leak water from everywhere. What do we do?

Water leaks from the hotels pool around the rest house and draw mosquitoes. We focus on draining this water away from your boundary and treating damp areas.

Pilgrims bring insects in their luggage and pests enter?

Some insects arrive with luggage, but boundary treatment and the main entrance prevent most. Inspecting new luggage and seasonal rooms also helps.

Shared drainage between the towers and the rest house. How do we cut it?

Shared drainage becomes a pest highway. We inspect contact points and seal any cracks or breaks on your side, focusing on the barrier between properties.

Does the mosquito source come from close by or far away?

Mosquitoes come from water pools very close to the towers and residential blocks and water cisterns. Finding the water source and draining it matters more than spraying pests.

Pilgrim movement differs in winter and summer. Do pests differ too?

Yes, summer pilgrims carry different pests than other seasons. The programme shifts by season and visitor flow. We increase treatment during peak pilgrimage months.

Seasonal hotel rest houses are a different model. How does treatment differ?

Seasonal hotel rest houses need treatment before the season and after it, with thorough disinfection between uses. Focus is on rooms, shelter and moisture rather than gardens.

How much does rest houses and farms in Al Taysir cost?

It is set after the inspection, because the price follows the type of infestation, the size of the space, how far it has spread and the number of visits it needs. Send a photo and a description on WhatsApp and we will give you an estimate before we reach Al Taysir.
