Why they keep coming back in Al Awali

Inspect and map the water

We walk the perimeter, the roof, the garden, the meter chambers and the condensate runs, record everything that holds water, and read the species from the breeding site and the time of biting.

Remove the water that can go

Empty, invert, cover: saucers, containers, old tyres and roof gullies. Every point that disappears is a treatment that never needs repeating.

Larval treatment, then the resting surfaces

Water that cannot be drained is treated so the larva never completes, then a residual goes under planting, beneath outdoor furniture and along low shaded walls.

The follow-up visit

We come back once the generation that was in the water on the first visit has completed, review every point we recorded and re-treat where needed.

Questions about this district

Does the elevated terrain of Al Awali reduce mosquito problems compared to other districts?

Elevation may aid general drainage, but gardens and gaps between villas do not benefit from this advantage. Water collects in relative low points, and the district still suffers seasonal water pooling.

Is Wateer Mall or the commercial areas around Al Awali a mosquito source?

Commercial zones may be a minor source but the villas themselves are the main problem. Each villa garden is essentially responsible for its own mosquito population, and treatment should focus on the villas rather than distant commercial centres.

Do the dense tree canopies in Al Awali hold enough stored water to sustain mosquitoes?
